Sermon Recap
Pastor Shawn Haggerty emphasizes the importance of spiritual readiness as believers await the return of Christ. Through the parable in Luke 12, he encourages the congregation to remain alert, actively living out their faith by serving others, rather than becoming spiritually sleepy. He stresses that our lives should reflect God’s love and concern for people, nurturing relationships that have been entrusted to us. Ultimately, Pastor Shawn calls for a transformation of our hearts to embrace a lifestyle of service, highlighting that Christ’s return should motivate us to cultivate awareness of His presence in our everyday lives.

Going Deeper:
Paul speaks about Jesus’ return in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 and tells us to use this knowledge to encourage one another as we walk together in our faith. Read this passage, Hebrews 9:28, Titus 2:13, Acts 17:30-31, Revelation 1:7-8, 1 John 3:1-3.
• Summarize what these texts teach us about Jesus’s return. If you were to encourage someone with the truth of Jesus’ return, what would you say?
• How does this truth encourage you in your present walk with Jesus?
• Incorporate what you have learned into your prayer time this week
