Text: Matthew 10:26-31
1. An acronym for fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. Talk about a ‘’chicken on the tent” moment when you were afraid of something you didn’t need to fear.
2. There is a way of living where we don’t have to fear anything! Matthew 10:28 calls it the fear of the Lord. This isn’t being scared of God. It’s a reverence and awe that comes from valuing him above all others. How do you experience this awe for God? Is it as you read the Bible, pray, in nature, in worship or something else?
3. In Matthew 10, Jesus tells us that not a sparrow falls to the ground without God knowing. And even the hairs on your head are numbered. How does knowing that God cares so much change the way you live?
What current situation in your life do you need to apply this truth? How will you do that this week?
4. A person’s name carries identity and meaning. The trust you have for God comes from the primary name you know him by. What is that name? How does that name define God for you?
5. Break up into groups of 2 or 3. Share honestly about one fear you have that you are struggling to trust God with. Take turns surrendering that fear, then pray for God to fill each one with a supernatural faith and fearlessness.
