Text:
Romans 12:1-2
1. Justin talked about the city of Boston and how many of the roads are paved cow paths. What is the most difficult road system you have driven?
2. This week we learned that everyone has built a city in their minds where the roads are ways of life that we have paved based on experience. What are some non-negotiable habits and practices you are committed to doing because of experience? What are some habits and practices you are committed to NEVER doing because of experience?
3. Romans 12:1 says "...in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice..." How can Christians today offer their bodies as a living sacrifice, practically? What specific areas of your life are easier and what specific areas are more of a struggle to live as a sacrifice to God?
4. Look up and read Matthew 6:24. How do you think our culture's high value on "Mammon" has impacted your own approach towards generosity? (Mammon is the belief that you alone are responsible for your own success and wealth, and that you should always be looking for the next best thing to live the "good life".)
Break up into groups of 2 or 3 of the same gender and pray over each person in the areas of struggle in question #3.
For further study: Read Romans 12:1-2 and go through line by line HOW these things can be accomplished in the everyday life of the believer.
