Text: I Kings 18:20-39
1. Talk through the story of I Kings 18:20-39 and share with the group what your immediate emotional, physical, or spiritual reactions would be if you were actually there.
2. Talk about a time in your life where you walked through a drought, experiencing no growth, no joy, no deliverance, no hope. What finally broke the drought? What did God do that changed your circumstances?
3. God often refers to Himself as a fire. What characteristics of a fire (examples; warmth, provision, direction) has God been like in your life?
4. When you see “the fire”, who God truly is, it moves every part of you. Every part. Your finances, your relationships, your titles, your motives, your heart. Every part. Where did God specifically move in you as you listened to this love story?
Break up into groups of 2 or 3 of the same gender. Share with each other things you are dabbling in, or weren’t even realizing you were dabbling in, that are causing the start of or the continuation of a spiritual drought in your life. Encourage and pray for each other to see God as He truly is and to remember the history o what He has done in your life.
