SERMON RECAP
In Mark 3, we see a growing tension around Jesus as people try to make sense of who He is. His family thinks He’s out of His mind, the religious leaders accuse Him of being evil, and the crowd is left to wrestle with a defining question: Who is this Jesus? The sermon challenges us with the reality that Jesus cannot be managed or fit into our expectations. He forces a response—He is either crazy, evil, or truly Lord.
As the passage unfolds, we see not only the problem of Jesus but the power of Jesus. He declares that He has come to bind the “strong man” and set people free—but He does it in an unexpected way. Through weakness, sacrifice, and the cross, Jesus redefines power itself. True strength is not control or dominance, but sacrificial love. This is the invitation: to stop managing Jesus, surrender to Him as Lord, and become part of a new family shaped by His love—a people who live out this upside-down kingdom through humility, forgiveness, and radical love.

HOW TO USE THIS DISCUSSION GUIDE
As you lead the discussion, we follow a discipleship framework that helps move us from learning to transformation:
Head → Heart → Hands → Share → Check-In
Leader Reminder: There are multiple questions in each section. Leaders should prepare ahead of time and use discernment to choose the questions that best serve their group. The goal of this discussion is not just conversation but transformation. Encourage participation, honesty, and practical obedience.

HEAD
What does the scripture show?
- In Mark 3:20–35, Mark brings us to a central question: Who is this Jesus? What different groups of people do we see in this passage, and how does each one answer that question?
- How do the religious leaders explain Jesus’ authority over demons and how does Jesus respond? What does this teach us about his mission? What does this reveal about how Jesus defines true power?
- How does Jesus redefine who belongs to His family? What does this show about life in the kingdom of God?
HEART
What do we believe?

- If Jesus truly is Lord, how should that shape the way you live your daily life? Where is that belief easy—or difficult—to live out right now?
- What does it look like to be people who live sacrificial love? What makes that kind of life challenging for you?
HANDS
Practice Together in Community

- Is there someone in your life you need to forgive, serve, or love in a costly way? What is one practical step you can take this week
- What do you need from the group right now—prayer, encouragement, wisdom, or accountability?
