Text:
Daniel 6:1-23
Happy Father’s Day!
1. Take a minute and share a memory of your dad with the group.
2. Just talked about diamonds and the way they are formed under pressure. As you consider the pressures of life you have walked through in your past, how have they formed you into the person you are today?
3. As you consider the story of Daniel in chapter six, what aspects of his story stood out the most to you?
4. Read Daniel 6:10. Prayer for Daniel was non-negotiable. It was a part of his routine despite the pressure to obey the decree. Read Phil 4:6-7. Prayer cultivates your relationship with God, gives trust during times of pressure, and ultimately brings peace to your heart. Talk about the ways that has been true in your own life.
Break up into groups of 3-4. Take some time together and share the pressures you are each facing today. Pray for supernatural strength to endure, for peace, and for trust in God who can deliver you from the mouth of lions.
For further study: Read Psalm 25:14. Daniel was a friend of God. What does it mean to you to be a friend of God? Read Phil 4:12-13. What do these verses mean to you?
