Text: I Corinthians 2:6-16
1. Talk about a place you visited where you needed a guide to lead you. What did your guide do/say? What would it have been like to visit without a guide?
2. In what specific areas of your life do you tend to rely on the natural mind for answers and solutions instead of trusting in the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit?
3. Justin said the primary reason we fail to experience a life in the Spirit is because “We have a tendency to neglect the gift (the Holy Spirit) we have been given by God.” Why do you think we have that tendency? How have you seen that manifest in your life?
4. 1 Corinthians 2 ends with the phrase “But we have the mind of Christ.” We have access to understand the essence of how God thinks and the way in which we practice that essence is humility, total reliance on the Spirit. In what specific areas of your life can you begin to practice total reliance on the Holy Spirit? Be specific.
Read Philippians 2:5-11 together. Pray for one another for a Jesus-modeled example of humility to penetrate every area of their life, but especially the answers given to question #4.
