Text: Mark 3:13-19
1. Did Shawn’s story of building a snowman and sledding with his daughter remind you of a childhood memory or a current memory with your kids? Take a moment and share why it was memorable.
2. A.W. Tozer said: “…the cause of some our greatest trouble is that we do not know, nor do we trust that God is here”. Talk about specific ways life would be different if you embraced the truth that God is present and wants to be with you? What keeps you from simply believing this gospel truth?
3. Describe the details of a moment when God’s presence was more near to you than ever before. How did that impact and shape your relationship with Him today? What steps can you take this week to make more room for those types of moments?
4. Think through your day. How can you slow down and become more aware of God’s presence and desire to be with you in every realm of your life? Talk specifically about home, work and relationships.
5. End your group by praying the 14-day challenge prayer Shawn mentioned at the end of his sermon. It goes like this: Pray that the reality of God’s unconditional love for you will go off inside you like a bomb.
