Text: Matthew 16:13-25
1. As you reflect on this week’s sermon, what are one or two insights that really stood out to you? Why did they stand out to you?
2. In verse 19, Jesus tells His disciples they will receive the “keys to kingdom”, which is the message of the gospel. Think about your closest relationships, consistent habits, and the affections of your heart. How have they been affected as your understanding of the gospel has increased? What has changed about them? Be specific.
3. The most fulfilled life is one that is fully sacrificed to God! Talk about 1 or 2 people that were examples of sacrifice to you and what impact that has had on your life.
4. Justin talked about the agenda of man versus the agenda of God.
A. The agenda of man is characterized by power, privilege, and preference. Where do you see one of those characteristics at work in your everyday life? What practical step will you take this week to turn from that ‘agenda of man’ way of living?
B. The agenda of God is characterized by surrender, service, and sacrifice. Where do you see these characteristics at work in your daily life? This week, how will you practically step into a fuller life led by ‘the agenda of God’?
5. Finish your group by praying together that each of you would replace your own agendas with God’s agenda. Receive a fresh infilling of the Spirit to finish 2021 strong in Jesus!
